Walking at Soccer Practice

The other day Aurora decided that she's a walker. She just gets up now and walks whenever she feels like it. Of course, she has to feel like it. You won't see this princess walking unless she wants to.

Yesterday at Rique's soccer practice she wanted to walk, so she did. She seemed excited to be outside in the freezing wind.

Soccer

Hurray!!! Soccer is finally here. I think we've been waiting for this day since we saw the ultrasound results. What a huge milestone.
Rique was so excited, and a little nervous I think. He listened intently to his coach's every command and answered back with every comment. If the coach ended his statement with an "okay?" Rique was sure to respond that that was "okay", if the coach asked if they "got it?" Rique assured him by saying "got it", and so on and so forth, "alright?"..."alright!" No biggy, but I think he was the only one answering. I love him so much!
I'm so proud of him and his enthusiasm I'm sure it'll be a great thing for him.

Here are some pictures.

He brought (left and lost) his ball to practice.
Listening intently to Coach.

Loving it!

He's a natural.

Always on task.

Pony Ride

Here's our video of the kids on their ponies. Rique asked if he could have a pony and I told him that Grandma and Grandpa got him a membership here so he could ride the pony whenever he wanted to. I think that satisfied him.

Fishing

A beautiful day and Papa's day off, we had to go fishing. So Rique and Papa dug in our compost heap to find us some chubby worms.
Rique's job was to put the worms in the bucket.

Aurora walking outside with help.

Enjoying her sandwich.

Preparing their rods.

Fishing

The girls just hung out in the sun, with our new sunblock for the season.
The weather was great!

Aurora sitting on the platform.

Watching the big one get away. It was so close and very big, I was sure we'd have fish for dinner when Seth started reeling him in, but at the very end he pulled free, so we're having spaghetti for dinner instead.

Hogle Zoo

Coy and Rique ran ahead and checked out the Orangutan. Rique rode the river otter on the carasol.

Aurora loved that she could get out of the stroller and stretch her legs.

We warmed up in "Grandma's House" and watched the leopard through the glass. Aurora liked the warmth.

"Grandma's House" was located in the Asian branch of the zoo, like the hat?

We got a lot of compliments on Aurora's adorable hat and sweater.

All the kids.

She put up with us walking in the cold, don't let the sunlight fool you. If we stopped for too long it got pretty chilly. Luckily, it warmed up later in the day.

Since the weather was so nice, we decided to meet up with my mission companion Rian and her two kids, Coy and Kees at the Hogle Zoo in SLC.

Farm Country

We brought some quarters to feed the chickens and ducks. Rique wanted to make sure he got his money's worth so he made sure to pick up the few he dropped.

Seth came home earlier than usual on Thursday, so we all piled into the car and drove to Thanksgiving Point to make use of our Farm Country membership. The weather looked lovely, then turned quite chilly, lucky we had sweaters and blankets.

Aurora took her first pony ride with me walking alongside her. When I first put her on the pony, she looked at me like I must have lost my mind, but then understood that I was going to be next to her the whole way and relaxed enough.

Kindergarten Registration

b

Yeppee!!! Rique gets to start Kindergarten this year.

Grandma Sandoval sent us his birth certificate in the mail, along with an adorable new hand made hat for Rora and a really cool dog book for Rique and Miles. We loaded everyone up in the wagon and walked down to Forbes to Register Rique. Tons of paper work (thank goodness Seth showed up to help). We are very happy and excited, especially Rique everyday he asks when he starts school, so I show him on his calendar, but then he asks again a few hours later.
