After the 1st Day of School

Big smile as he came down the steps after his 1st day of school.
We picked Papa up from work and went to Carl's Jr. for lunch to celebrate this special day.

Enrique made this crown at school. They also played with Legos, toured the school cafeteria, read a book, took turns at the water fountain, and learned, learned, learned.

Morning of Kindergarden

We all woke up on time, ate waffles, wienies & huevos, and milk.
Rique got dressed, fed Miles, and straightened his room.Rora is excited for her big brother.Seth and Rique walked ahead, Aurora, Joaquin and I took up the rear.In front of Forbes Elementary with his Speed Racer Backpack from Tia Delesme & Uncle Aaron. All the little ones lined up to go to school after they gave Mrs. Collard their homework.
Doesn't he look sharp? (Besides the bad haircut.)

Here is Rique going to school. We've been anticipating this day for a long time. My favorite part is when he tells me that he loves me and says good bye. I know he's having a great time. I can't wait to see him in a couple of hours and hear all about it.

$2 Tuesdays @ Thanksgiving Point

It was definitely crowded, but it was the only day we had to go with Seth so we did. Papa loves to hold his Bonita.
Rique pointing at the fish.

He had me take several shots until we got one with his head in the shark's mouth, crazy kid.

Rique insisted that he take a picture of us.

Father and Daughter

I have a picture of them on this same sculpture from last year. Look at last August's blog.

Seth enjoyed the museum, he said his favorite part was carrying Aurora.
Life is less about the events and more about those we spend those events with.

Aurora wanted her own picture.
When we got back from the museum, it was time to to to Forbes Elementary School to meet Enrique's Kindergarden teacher, Mrs. Collard.
He starts school next Thursday. We know he'll do great!

BYU Graduation

Enrique, Aurora and I went to Nadia's graduation and were very blessed to hear Elder Ballard speak. We are very proud and excited for our new "Tia".
Friday, after Nadia's college graduation, we ate, partied and said goodbye.
We'll miss Nadia while she's in Arizona, but look forward to May, when she'll be officially part of the family. Rique at the guitar.

The 3rd Annual Granados Family Reunion

Our reunion unofficially began on Friday with the arrival of Camie and Tony with the boys. Rique was happy to spend the night with them at his Tia Ariela's home.

They all came over on Saturday and played in our little pool, then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Granados' house for Carne Asada.

Sunday, we got together again to celebrate Isaac's 24th birthday. Seth and his Bonita before church on Sunday.
All 15 cousins in order from tallest to smallest.
Aimee, Ethan, Alyssa, Jacob, Nicole,
Elaine, Nathan, Elias, Joshua, Enrique,
Jayden, Adam, Nefi Jr., Isabella, and Aurora.

Monday we rested.

On Tuesday we tried to make use of Thanksgiving point's $2 Tuesdays. All the kids, minus Aurora went to the Dinosaur Museum. We heard it was very crowded, but they had a fun time. Afterwards, they all came back to our place and dressed up to play out Nacho Libre.
(I don't know why.)
Nathan as Nacho and Elias as El Skeleto.
Costumes are from Enrique's 2nd Halloween when he was Super man.

Rora & Bella

Seth and Enrique took Tony, Nefi, and Zoram's families on a hike in American Fork Canyon to see some waterfalls. Enrique is happy.

They all had a good time.

Seth on the falls.

Michelle, Nefi, Zoram, Carol, Ethan, Aime, Jacob, Elaine, Nicole, Alyssa, Camie, Nathan, Adam, Joshua, Nefito, Jayden, Rique, Seth and Elias. (Tony took the picture.)
That evening our reunion officially began with a session at the temple and dinner with all the adults at Olive Garden.
Special thanks to Nadia for watching the kids while we were in the temple and a thousand thanks to Alyssa for managing everyone while we were at dinner. I loved coming home and finding the house neater, not messier than when we left it.

Thursday morning all the ladies went out to Kneaders for breakfast, (I want more french toast)and relaxed at Ariela's house with a craft and manicure or pedicure.
In the afternoon we played team sports at the park.Rique loved using his water gun before, during and after capture the flag.

Leap Frog
I don't remember who won best team, but I think this team looked the happiest, and that's what matters the most, isn't it?

Nefi, Mario, Ethan, Aimee, Nathan and Enrique
Ariela and I sat and enjoyed the festivities.

Seth and Aurora
Thursday evening we went back to our place and roasted hot dogs and sang happy birthday to Grandpa.
Friday we all went to Seven Peaks and had a great time playing in the water.
That night all the men went and saw GI Joe.
Saturday morning we ate waffles and got the backyard ready for Grandpa Granados' surprise 60th birthday luau.

He was happily surprised.

Grandma and Grandpa' neighbor brought balloons to entertain the kids.
Rique loved his sword, complete with belt holder.

Balloon swords are very safe, too bad they pop.

All the kids.

Aurora got a balloon animal too.

The adults over 45 got to hit the pinata.

The kids got all the candy.

This year we added one more to the reunion.
Now we are 32.
September we'll be 33 and October we'll be 34.
I wonder if there will be more before next year's reunion.
The evening and reunion ended with dancing.

The reunion unofficially continued on Sunday as we ate the leftovers and discussed plans for next year's reunion.

Pioneer Day

We got up nice and early and headed over to eat breakfast and celebrate Pioneer Day with Grandma and Grandpa Granados' ward. Afterwards, we continued our family tradition of working hard like the pioneers by cleaning carpet for Grandma and Grandpa then our backyard. We ended the day with a fantastic ward party and fireworks. The kids sorted throw the sawdust to find candy, Rora watched on with a lolipop in her mouth.
Rique wrote his name on his rocket and then watched it soar high into the air.

Seth really had a fun time tossing the kids up in the air, I love the smile on his face.

We both dressed up in our Pioneer attire and had fun celebrating our ancestors.

Rique got to hold the banner at the beginning of the kids parade around the church, he looked so proud, it was very sweet.

Rique getting tossed in the air, once was enough.

Bonita and Grandma Rosie walking in the parade.

Seth is simply the best!

My husband is great because he helps me.
I was having a hard time organizing the kids rooms after the big switch and was getting very frusturated over it, so he came home and did it all, I just sat and gave input, but he did it all and I am so grateful to him for it. Something I didn't think I could get done in months, he finished off in one afternoon. Here are some cute shots of Rora in her newly inherited wetsuit from big brother Rique.
