Aunt Amanda comes to Utah

Aunt Amanda came to visit us and Joaquin.
We enjoyed having her with our family and showing off our home and chilly weather.
The Alpine Loop wasn't colorful, but it was still pretty.
Enrique did an awesome job in his primary program.
The best thing was, I got an amazing massage from my favorite sister.

We love you Amanda!

Walk to School

Today was walk to school day.
Grandma Rosie walked Enrique down the street to meet up with his school and principal to walk to school. She said that Enrique was very excited to see all his friends and said hi to everyone. When they got to school the PTA gave them all gogurts.

Papa, Bonita and our baby

I don't know what we would do without Papa this past week. Seth is so tender with his children, yet firm when need be.
Here I see my gentle husband and father of my children teaching our daughter about being a big sister.
She is so excited to hold him and a little possessive at times.

Aurora and Joaquin

Aurora loves her baby brother.

She is very gentle with him.
Aurora is happy to be a big sister.
(I think Joaquin was pooping in this picture, he loves his sister too.)

Enrique holds Joaquin

Enrique asked to hold Joaquin.
Seth and I left them in the room, while we checked our email in the kitchen.
We went to check on them and they were fast asleep.
So sweet and tender.
He loves his new brother.

Coming Home from the Hospital

My amazing husband redid our bedroom, complete with new bed that he constructed himself while I was at the hospital. It was a wonderful surprise.

Rique loves holding his baby, and Aurora loves the cookies I brought from the hospital.Aurora welcomes Joaquin

My sweet Mei on my lap. Just after this picture was taken, she slid off and went to check out her new baby brother.
Coming inside.
Aurora running to greet us.
Seth and I with Joaquin in our driveway.
With Enrique and Aurora, they made me go out in a wheel chair. With Joaquin, they let me walk. Seth was pleasantly surprised at how light the carrier was. I had to remind him that the last time he was carrying it, it held our one year old daughter.

Bonding with Joaquin

It was nice to spend time together with our new son, Joaquin.

Here he is with his eyes open, you can see he has Seth's nose and lips, but I think that's about it.
My mom made Joaquin this blue cotton crocheted blanket.
The nurses in the nursery made his name card above his bed.
He is a really good sleeper.

Not so hot on burping.
Seth was great to spend the night at the hospital with us and deliver Joaquin to and from my bed at all hours of the night and day.

Joaquin's peaceful sleeping is contagious.

Although it was a bummer that the hospital changed their child visitor policy the day Joaquin was born, it was nice to spend so much time alone with Seth and Joaquin. It was also very relaxing.

Baby Joaquin

This a cell phone picture of baby Joaquin from this morning. He weighed 8 pounds 5 ounces and measured 19.5 inches long. Both he and Tanya are doing well and I will put some pictures up tonight or tomorrow. Seth
