We love Steel Days!

Peek a boo, where's Aurora
All dressed up to see the Cinderella play.

Picnic at the park was so fun.

Free games for kids, and all the donuts on a string you can eat.

We loved the BBQ take out from Mom and Dad.

Relaxing and fun. Rique and my dad finished off the evening by staying in the park and watching Madagascar II.

Corn on the Cob

Thursday evening we enjoyed a yummy BBQ. And we discovered that Aurora loves corn on the cob.
She cleaned this one all by herself.

Switching and Painting Rooms

From Pink to Grold (green gold?) & Blue to Green My mom graciously accepted the challenge to paint and switch the kids rooms and in the few days she was here. Rique's room is Rora's and they are both different colors.
Grandpa helped disassemble furniture, by teaching Rique how to do it himself.

Good looking kid.

Aurora helped too.

Grocery Shopping with Grandma and Grandpa

Grocery shopping with Grandma and Grandpa can be fun. Especially when its followed up with an ice cream cone at Macy's.

Aurora ended up eating all of Dad's ice cream cone, so he had to get his own.

American Fork Canyon, Wednesday

My parents arrived on Tuesday morning to spend the week with us. My dad promptly set up the swing set they brought the kids and then it was off to the pool. No pictures were taken. Rique got the men to pose with him by the fire. He told Grandpa where to stand and had his papa join him by placing their feet on the fire pit.
Unposed, but just as good.

Aurora loves to take off peoples glasses. Luckily or unluckily, Grandma and Grandpa Sandoval both wear glasses.

My dad would let her take the glasses, such a softy.

I'm not sure who looks happier here.

We just happened to all be wearing the same color.

Wednesday we drove up AF Canyon and BBQ'd. I loved how cool it was, I think the temperature jumped up ten degrees when we exited the canyon.

Rique loved scaling the rocks, but getting down was a bit more tricky.

Everything is more fun when you're dirty, I should have this phrase framed in my home.

Rique started the messiness by handling old charred wood.

Girls and Dolls

Its so cute to see Aurora carrying around her baby doll. This is the doll we rescued from our Pioneer Trek years ago.
She likes to sit her doll down on the fence and then take her place next to her. She's a gem.

Rique said that swinging on our tree branch was "like George of the Jungle without the girl."

Bees & Chickens

Instead of a summer BBQ that none of the staff would show up for, we went to a Utah Bees' baseball game with the team from work. This was our family's first game together. As we were walking to our seats, we remembered that the last game Seth and I had been to was our first group date, seven years ago.
Rique loved watching the mascots play more than the baseball players. The "famous chicken" was a visiting guest mascot and signed autographs in the last innings, Rique wanted to take a picture with him, but the line was so long there was no way we were doing that. So I had him stand infront and smile, can you see the chicken in the backround?

Seth made this a fun time for everyone. He held Aurora, leaving my lap free and Rique got Cotton Candy. We had a great time, thank you Wells Fargo.

Pre Fourth of July, Kids Parade

Uncle Sam and Betsy Ross
Betsy chewing on her 4th of July bracelet.

Our two patriots await the beginning of the parade.

It was hot and they did a great job of walking and riding the razor and stroller.

I'm pretty proud of my costume creation, all from some scraps and a red curtain that didn't fit any of our window.

Papa's Surprise

Coming home and unpacking, was just about as fun as packing to leave was. Rique enjoyed emptying his entire suitcase on the floor and climbing in.
Seth kept telling us that he had a surprise for us when we got home. It was a pool, Yeppee!

The water was freezing cold, but the weather is hot and the kids love it, good job Papa!

Ariela's Baby Showers

Cami and I gave Ariela two baby showers in one day. One for ward members and church friends and the other one for the family. Both were well attended and we had a good time. Thank you all that came.
Loriann Boon graciously lent us the use of her beautiful backyard for the 1st shower.

Ariela, you can thank Aimee and Alyssa for this picture.
Baby Bath
We love these baby towels. I need to make one for Joaquin.

Beautiful framed copy of "I am a Child of God."
All the gifts were loved and appreciated.

Ariela and I are both pregnant and happily await the arrival of our babies this fall. We hope the two of them will be good friends. Thank you Tia Estela for opening your home for Ariela's baby shower.
